About Me
Hi, I'm Josh.
I'm the President of Computer PRO Unltd in St. Charles, Missouri, and I've been working in IT since 2007.
I started my career at Computer PRO Unltd as a secretary while going to Lewis and Clark for tech school. I picked up everything I could along the way and moved through a lot of different roles at the company, and today I run it.
Over the years I've managed networks with hundreds of computers, built servers and workstations, and handled cybersecurity for a lot of different clients. I've also been responsible for cyber incident response and management, making sure our clients' systems and data stay protected and get back up when something goes wrong.

Why This Site
This site is where I post random thoughts, ideas, reviews, and blog posts that don't really fit on the work website. Some of it is IT, some of it is apps and tools I'm using, and some of it is just whatever I'm into at the moment.
What I Do
Most of my day is spent keeping small and mid-sized businesses running. Here's what that looks like.
IT Support
Day-to-day help for the people actually using the computers. Fixing what's broken, setting up new machines and users, and getting people back to work fast, whether that's onsite, remote, or on the bench in our shop.
Networking
Designing, building, and maintaining networks, from a small office to sites with hundreds of computers. Switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi that are set up right and stay that way.
Cybersecurity
Patching, MFA, backups, and monitoring to keep client systems protected, and incident response and recovery when something gets through. I'm also building out our work around the NIST and CMMC frameworks.
vCIO Services
Acting as the IT leader for businesses that don't have one in-house. Planning IT roadmaps and budgets, making sure technology spending lines up with where the business is going, and being the person they can call to talk it through.
Outside of Work
In my free time I play a lot of strategy games. RimWorld and Crusader Kings III are my go-tos, and back in the day I was a big Age of Empires 2 fan.
I also love reading and gardening. Sometimes there is nothing better than a good book, and when I'm short on time I turn to audiobooks. I don't really have a favorite genre, but I end up reading a lot of history, historical fiction, and mysteries. Everyone loves a good whodunit.
I know some Russian and I'm working on getting better at it. I've traveled to a lot of countries, but I've spent most of my life in the St. Louis metro area, and it's home.
I have a wonderful wife and daughter who support me in everything I do. A lot of what I've accomplished, personally and professionally, I owe to my family, both here and abroad.
